Review of Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011) by Paul S — 24 Jan 2011
A funny, original, inventive, well-written comedy that plays on the stereotypical roles of it's principal characters are known to play. Never goes into slapstick or funny faces to get a laugh.
It actually uses Punjabi Jatt culture as a background and uses it well in the film. Never does it poke fun of Sikhi or anything to do with Punjab.
The soundtrack features some really toe-tapping music without dumb English lyrics strewn about haphazardly. The main song, Main Jatt Yamala Pagla Deewana was a hit back in the 70s and it will be a hit again.
I highly recommend watching this movie.
