Review of Yesterday (2019) by Dawdlingpoet — 25 Nov 2021
This is a pleasant, mildly amusing music based fantasy film. The main plot intrigued me and I thought it was an entertaining watch but it also felt a little too...fluffy might be the word? its a nice and interesting film but there isn't much explored in terms of what effect on the world there not having been any knowledge of the Beatles may potentially have had.
Having read that Richard Curtis wrote the screenplay, that didn't surprise me too much. There is, almost inevitably, the moral quandry element, which was also, good. Its a good film, just not especially great, stand-out or overly memorable as such.
It was nice seeing Sarah Lancashire and Sanjeev Bhaskar in it too. I'd recommend it to people interested in a light and pleasant watch I suppose.
