Review of You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah (2023) by Scb47 — 03 Sep 2023
"My Bat Mitzvah" is a cute, compelling look at life as a Jewish middle school girl. It feels real and respectful as the teen movie for the 2020s. Jealousy, self-consciousness, FOMO, etc. are just some of the themes as 13-year old Stacy tries and repeatedly fails to do the right thing by her family, friends, and religion.
The Sandler daughters are very good actors, Adam is great in a supporting Dad role, and the story speaks to viewers of all ages.
