The film got only very limited release in the US and the rest of the world for the simple and obvious reason that it's not a great film. With Swank on board, one can be instantly assured the acting quality is going to be somehow strong and the film should be equally be of a certain artistic value.

with two Oscars under her belt, Swank is actually one of the finest actress around and will probably have a very long career if she manages to make some much better choices. she has unfortunately proven to be involved on some pretty poor films over the years , proof once again of the difficulty for a female actress of her weight to find good parts.

Anyways this film plays like a nice enough Sunday TV movie for housewives. It's heavy handed and never really touching. The film manages here and there to hit the right note but never convince the audience of the harsh reality this woman is living day by day seeing herself becoming more and more crippled while the world around her seems to insist she keep a good spirit and never gives up.

Most situations are clichés and even the motor mouth house sitter and friend played by the likeable Emmy Rossum feels a little forced and theatrical. Swank of course does a fine job as always but her efforts are met in vain by the camera of a director who seem to fail completely to understand the situation lived by this woman.

With Ingmar Bergman in the director's chair , let me tell you, this type of film would have instantly gained in depth, emotion, and would have turned out to be a near masterpiece for sure, but George C.

Wolfe is far from being a master and proves with this average drama that his craft need some work in the future. Not a complete miss but definitely nothing special or memorable. In resume, a Netflix film.
