Review of Z for Zachariah (2015) by Late R — 16 Aug 2017
A thinking man's movie, the pace is deliberately slow so as to let the characters and the relationships between them develop naturally, as well as deliver a suspenseful, thoughtful and tension-filled story, despite an extremely simple premise: take the story of Adam & Eve, add another man to the mix and then imagine that they are modern-day, flawed humans who are intent on surviving.
How's that going to go? If discovering the complexities of such an arrangement is something that interests you, then this one's definitely for you. Personally, I found that it played on my mind for a couple of days afterwards, which I always take as a good sign.
