Review of Zoo (1988) by Amanda P — 08 Feb 2011
I still can't decide whether I love this or hate this. I personally would not call this a 'real' documentary. The subject was already deceased, and rather than making something similar to 'Dear Zachary', as in interviewing people who were involved in the subject's life, the director decided that he would do it like a movie (docu-drama).
In which I find it unnecessary. It was over the top at some point, although I should have reminded myself that this documentary is extremely strange and disturbing because of the topic (bestiality). I was disappointed with the director's approach of the story, this documentary could really have been better without the dramatization.
